Chasing Pirates in Never Land

My novella, Chasing Pirates in Never Land, which has been out of print for a little while is now included in the Concealed: United! Box Set #2, along with books by the fabulous authors Rachel Branton, Liz Adair, and Heather Justesen.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLLZFZ0/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00NLLZFZ0&linkCode=as2&tag=rachelcom-20&linkId=FZDQPBI7RRZGGILB

These stories have been donated by the authors for this box set to help author Rachel Ann Nunes, who in July 2014 had one of her copyrighted novels plagiarized and is now protecting those rights in a court battle. Her fight is not hers alone, and we are standing behind her with our work. Please help us send the message that plagiarizing is not okay. All proceeds will be donated toward legal costs. (Please note that another man has also come forward to confirm that his real-life combat veteran story was also stolen by the same person. Preventing this from happening again is our goal.)

Author Bio
Lauren Skidmore grew up in Kansas, with stints in Ohio and New York, and currently lives in Utah. She attended Brigham Young University where she earned a BA in English Teaching with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language and Japanese. She then spent a year in Japan teaching and travelling. She hasn’t made it to Europe yet, but it’s on the list and has been to 30 states in the U.S. so far. When she’s not exploring new places, you can probably find her on the internet with fifteen windows open and looking at just one more thing before actually getting something done.

.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The setting is beautifully developed, the character's engaging and the plot suspenseful. I'll be looking for other books from Lauren. Very nice.

Indie Author Conference

I'm super excited. I get to do a class on copyright at a Indie writer conference on June 7. Here's my description of the class.

A Royal's Guide to Managing the Kingdom

(Creating and Leveraging Intellectual Properties)
A vital course for writers to understand the monetary value of the works they produce and how to protect and use these assets to their greatest advantage. That's business speak for understanding copyright. If you understand it, you make money. If you don't, other people will make money off of you. You can be a ruler or a slave. Your choice if you understand. You risk selling yourself into slavery if you don't. This is important information every writer should know.

Here's a link to the conference site.

We're celebrating the launch of Spy Noon, a prequel novella to I, Spy! You can also find Spy Noon at the special 99¢ launch discount through Singles Awareness Day (Feb 14) on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble and JordanMcCollum.com!

When Elliott Monteith, her ridiculously handsome new coworker, shows up (and shows her up), Talia decides it's game on. She'll be the first to track down a dangerous counter-spy, and she'll give Elliott an unforgettable souvenir of his time in Ottawa: some humble pie.

Her plans don't work as well as she expects, though. Elliott's over-the-top flirting dredges up too many painful memories for Talia and undermines the confidence she's worked hard to regain. To do her job and keep her integrity intact, she'll have to keep her personal feelings at bay. Now Talia must find a way to work alongside Elliott—and maybe even trust him—to outsmart the enemy.

Chronologically, Spy Noon is the first in the series.

Praise for the series

A fast-paced, crisply written story with entertaining plot twists, told in a first person, wryly self-deprecating narrative voice. . . . I, Spy is a well-crafted romantic suspense with humor, heart, and a uniquely engaging heroine.

I knew by the first page that I was going to love [I, Spy]. I absolutely loved Talia's inner voice. . . . The plot is enjoyable and I loved the action! I really could not guess what was going to happen next. There were so many surprises at the turn of each page, especially during the climax, it didn't matter what time it was, I had to finish.

The series has this great combination of sarcasm and wit in the MC, great chemistry and dialogue between her and her love interest, and then a whole slue of spying, deception, intrigue, and danger. Especially of that last one. . . .

I thoroughly enjoyed [Spy for a Spy]! I would definitely read it again and I am highly anticipating the next book that Jordan McCollum writes! If you enjoy action-adventure, suspense, or books about characters who are spies and some romance, then I would definitely recommend this.

About the author

An award-winning author, Jordan McCollum can’t resist a story where good defeats evil and true love conquers all. In her day job, she coerces people to do things they don’t want to, elicits information and generally manipulates the people she loves most—she’s a mom.

Jordan holds a degree in American Studies and Linguistics from Brigham Young University. When she catches a spare minute, her hobbies include reading, knitting and music. She lives with her husband and four children in Utah.
